A LESS Exposure Advanced Spine Technology (LEAST™)

ScrewLESS Fixation:

  • Restores interspinous ligaments

  • Eliminates facet pain

  • Preserves disc motion

FDA cleared since 2010, InSpan has been revolutionizing spinal fixation and stabilization with its LESS™ Exposure Spine Surgery technology, designed to provide immediate facet stability while preserving disc motion. Wholly owned by NANISX LLC (a KIC Ventures portfolio company), InSpan is a screwLESS solution that avoids pedicle screws, making it an ideal option for treating spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and facet joint degeneration.

Guided by our LESS™ REP principles, Restore Function, Early Intervention, and Preserve Anatomy, InSpan shifts procedures from hospitals to outpatient centers, empowering interventional pain doctors and spine surgeons to perform safer, faster, and more efficient interventional spine surgery procedures. With proven clinical outcomes, increasing adoption, and expanding reimbursement coverage, Inspan is leading the transformation of spine care in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and office-based labs (OBLs).

AO Principles of Fusion

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) principles for fusion are a set of guidelines for improving fracture treatment results using internal fixation.

The AO principles of fusion include:

  • Accurately and closely fitting the fusion surfaces

  • Positioning the joint optimally

  • Maintaining bone apposition in an undisturbed fashion

  • Removing all cartilage, fibrous tissue, and other material that may prevent bone surfaces from contacting

The AO group was formed in 1958 by Maurice E. Müller, who was inspired by the work of Robert Danis on internal fixation and primary bone healing.
